- Description: 1-1/2 story; wood frame with beveled wood siding; rectangular plan, three-bay facade with extended porte cochere at center bay; gable roofs, extended rafter ends, composition shingles, gabled dormers with windows, two interior brick chimneys (two double fireplaces on interior); two porches on front with square brick columns, battered box columns on brick piers; side-facing steps into porte cochere; wood panel entry doors with upper glass; 6/6 wood double-hung windows arranged in singles, pairs, triples; detached shed and garage; entry lane flanked by oak trees planted from acorns; original house site was 17.5 acres, now 15.5 acres; two springs are on the north end of the lot.
- Significance: Good example of architectural type; construction information: Judson Cowart – brick mason, John Card – carpenter, Mr. Foster made windows and door casings, Mr. Walker and two sons participated in construction; foundation sills are heart pine; ship lap and 2 x 4 were shipped from Diboll, $11/thousand, beveled siding procured locally, $35/thousand; Mr. Walker installed the first water line in the neighborhood in the early 1930s. Mr. Walker was Angelina County Superintendent of Schools during the 1920s and 1930s when the rural schools were consolidating with urban schools. He designed the first school buses for the county; they were built by the Martin Wagon Company. Nominated to the National Register. The significance is in the area of architecture.
