- Description: 1-story; wood frame with bull-nosed siding; brick pier foundation with foundation skirt; irregular plan with projecting chambered bay; intersecting pyramidal hip and pedimented gable roofs with curved ridge crests, interior brick chimney, composition shingles; porch across front curves around to south side, slender Doric columns; wood and glass entry door with paned side lights and transom tight; windows 1/1 wood double-hung with drip mold; small wood frame gazebo in yard with gingerbread trim.
- Significance: Built for Ernest Kurth; president of the Angelina County Lumber Company and son of Joseph Kurth, one of the founders of the Angelina County Lumber Company. Closely associated with sites No. L-0526 and L-0529, also Angelina County Lumber Company residences. Described by Lita Mayberry as a “Type A” house “distinguished by their size, spacious fenced yard, and location in the community. Each house was painted white, had 8 to 10 rooms, and was equipped with all modern conveniences. Each Type A house was usually attached to a garage and could be found in groves of oak trees.” Nominated to the National Register. The significance is industry and architecture.
