Cain at Magnolia Street 1986 Survey Information Site No.: L-0157 Address: Cain at Magnolia Street Date: 1900-1909 Town: Lufkin Block/ Lot: Railroad Right-of-Way Condition: Fair Description: 1-story; wood frame with horizontal board siding; rectangular plan; wood post foundation; hip roof with galvanized roofing, deep overhang, scroll brackets under eaves; windows 4/4 wood double-hung; entry door on east. Adjacent rectangular shed, rectangular plan; board and batten siding, wood post foundation; wood shingle gable roof, 6/6 wood double-hung windows, inset door on the northwest.  First structure has beaded wood siding and cabinets on the interior. Significance:  Shown on the 1909-1912 historic photographs taken from the old Lufkin Standpipe in Cotton Square.  Good example of style, similar construction as the railroad passenger station that has been demolished.  It is nominated to the National Register.  The areas of significance is commerce and...
