  • Description: 1-story; petrified wood/masonry construction; concrete perimeter beam foundation 4-6 feet in depth; intersecting gable roofs, composition shingles, exterior chimney on north; shed roof over porch, trimmed tree trunk porch supports; multipaned glass and wood entry door; 8/8 wood double-hung windows; low rock wall at porch; petrified rock birdbath on north; trees on lot grown from acorns.
  • Significance:  Good example of style; Mr. G. E. Lawrence was a builder in the Lufkin area, G. E. & Helen Lawrence collected the rock locally, a stockpile remains for work not completed; house in continuous family ownership, no alterations.  Excellent example of Craftsman/Bungalow style of architecture.  Nominated to the National Register.  The significance is architecture.
